Stouffville Mayor First to Receive Coveted Cybersafety Award for Supporting Anti-Bullying & Online Safety

Mayor Wayne Emmerson was honoured on Youth CyberSafety Day (March 12) for his Office’s and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville’s progressive stance on keeping local kids and families safe online. This brings to light some of the most important causes affecting youth and families in the region. By setting a strong example for other municipalities to follow KnowledgeFlow seeks to raise awareness and help to hack-proof the local community against the serious risks of cyberbullying, online fraud and malware.

The event was part of a trailblazing initiative in a community that has seen its share of privacy breaches and bullying issues. KnowledgeFlow.ca, is an independent, non-profit division of well known security and privacy consultancy Informatica of Toronto. The radical new approach to awareness entertains, informs and engages not only families but entire communities. KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety seminars are open to all young people in the region and many chose to attend with parents or other adults.
